Welcome to the New Year! May yours be truly happy and healthy. There are some wonderful things happening just over the horizon that I'd love to fill you in on!
My debut album Phantoms will be out very soon. How soon? Well, its still being mixed and mastered (and there's maybe just a teensy bit of recording left to do) but all things going to plan it should be out sometime in the first half of 2015. I can't wait to share it with you!
Here's a nice little piece of Saint Motel news, we'll be playing Coachella 2015! We'll be on both Sundays (12th & 19th April) with set times still TBA.
In even more Saint Motel news, I'll be joining the boys for another tour of Europe in Feb - March this year. We've got shows all over the place (even going to Scandinavia, woo!) so check www.saintmotel.com for dates and more info.
I'm very honoured to be attending NAMM this year as a guest of the wonderful P. Mauriat Saxophones. My PMXT-66R has been my trusty axe for 8 years now and I wouldn't swap it for anything. I can't wait to check out the other great horns they have on display, and totally nerd out to the rest of the gear at the festival.
Saxophone nerds like me and other musicians interested in my articulation project will be glad to know that a presentation with my co-author, Dr Matt Styles, is currently under consideration by the panel at the World Saxophone Congress. If all goes to plan, we'll be jetting over to Strasbourg, France in July to talk about your tongue!
A few weeks ago I recorded with the wonderful drummer Tabor Allen at Chris Schlarb's studio in Long Beach for Tabor's upcoming debut album. It's more beautiful music from a fantastic drummer and I can't wait to hear it all. Release is slated for the near future.
2015 will also be the year in which my cherished project SaxTuition will be launched. SaxTuition is one solution for sax students that would love to learn the saxophone but for various reasons don't have access to a teacher. I will be sharing more info about this very soon.
This is just a small sample of the things planned for 2015... I hope you will join me along the way!
